by Ricky Dunn, on November 15, 2024 at 5:10 AM
If you're in the construction material, manufacturing, or warehousing industries, odds are you need forklifts for both indoor and outdoor applications. The trouble is many designs focus on one or the other, forcing you to maintain two fleets for similar jobs. The Clark SE25 S-series electric forklift just might be the solution you're looking for.
This versatile lithium-ion forklift has the power to keep up with any high-activity enterprise and the durability to handle all four seasons, indoors and out. Read on to learn everything you need to know about the Clark SE25.
Notable Features
The Clark SE25 S-series electric forklift has a lot to offer. However, three features make it stand out.
- Zero Turn Steer Axle. The S-series electric forklifts feature a zero-degree turning radius on the steering axle, allowing the forklift to maneuver more nimbly even in tight aisles.
- Automatic Fork Leveling. The vertical lift mast system includes automatic fork leveling. This feature levels the forks regardless of mast tilt, making it easier for operators to pick pallets.
- Turtle Mode. The SE25 has four selectable performance modes, including turtle mode. This option reduces the forklift’s maximum travel speed while maintaining full hydraulic lift power. Turtle mode is a perfect operating mode for facilities with high pedestrian traffic.
Best For: The Clark SE25 electric forklift is best suited for light to medium-duty loads in medium to high-activity facilities with indoor and/or outdoor applications. We recommend it for the construction materials industry, food and beverage industries, and freight and logistics industries.
Not Recommended For: This Clark electric forklift is not recommended for heavy-duty or rugged applications such as construction job sites or commercial marinas.

Pros
Safety
Safety was clearly a top design requirement when Clark created the SE25. This model features low-maintenance wet disc brakes with an automatic parking brake, which self-activates whenever the fork truck stops or the operator adjusts the seat. The nested I-beam mast features a two-primary-cylinder design, which offers a wider field of view compared to many other forklifts of this size. In addition to the zero-turn steering axle and turtle mode, the SE25 has a curve cutback feature that automatically slows the truck during turns, making it even safer to maneuver.
Ergonomics
A forklift only works as often as the operator. To ensure operator comfort, Clark added a suite of standard ergonomic features to their S-series forklifts. A vinyl, full-suspension seat with integrated lumbar support comes standard on the SE25. This pairs with a padded, wide-profile hip restraint to reduce fatigue.
The floor is 4 inches wider than other models to accommodate a variety of body types and improve comfort. Finally, hood-mounted control levers allow the driver to operate the truck without leaning or stretching, further reducing fatigue and ease of use.
Smart Features
The SE25 has a 5.6-inch LCD dash that serves as the information hub for this lithium-ion forklift's smart features. On-board diagnostics feed directly to the display to keep the operator informed on all facets of the forklift's performance, including the integrated lithium-ion battery. ZAPI controllers, mounted to the hood, allow advanced control and communication.
Power and Durability
A fully welded heavy gauge frame forms the core of the SE25. A six-roller carriage with standard side thrust rollers helps ensure stability and prevents mast deflection during lifting. Likewise, S-series forklifts have a wider, low-profile design with a lower center of gravity to maximize stability during lifting and traveling. Finally, the Clark Nested I-Beam mast has endured rigorous testing to ensure reliability and longevity.
Indoor-Outdoor Forklift
The versatility of this indoor-outdoor forklift eliminates the need to maintain one indoor fleet and a separate outdoor fleet, reducing your maintenance costs. The integrated lithium-ion battery and power system are shielded against the weather, allowing operation on even rainy days. For areas that experience challenging weather, the optional Clark S-series heated cabin protects the operator from the elements, keeping your forklift in operation year-round.
Cons
Low Clearance
While this Clark electric forklift design allows both indoor and outdoor applications, it is not equipped for off-road usage. The low clearance chassis prevents the SE25 from tackling the ruts and ridges of more rugged applications. As such, we recommend driving the SE25 on asphalt, concrete, or similarly smooth operating surfaces.
Maximum Lifting Capacity
The SE25 is the lightest-duty of the S-series family. Its maximum lifting capacity tops out at 5,000 lbs, making it unsuited for heavy-duty lifting. If your industry calls for lifting heavier loads, the SE25 may not be the forklift for you. In that case, you may consider the SE35, which has a maximum lifting capacity of 7,000 lbs.
Take Away
The Clark SE25 S-series electric forklift is a solid all-arounder, perfect for facilities with both indoor and outdoor applications, such as lumber yards, home improvement centers, and warehouses. With the optional heated cabin, it can be an all-season machine even in inclemate weather.
