Stop-Wasting-Your-Money-on-New-Forklift-Batteries–Buy-Used-Forklift_BatteriesOut with the old and in with the new!

Wait! Stop! Casting out your old forklift batteries might sound like progress, but really, it's just a waste. Your batteries still have a lot of life in them, and pitching them as soon as they start slowing down is a surefire way to squander your budget. Luckily, there's another option.

Read on to learn how to save money on forklift batteries by investing in used and refurbished batteries.

Alternatives to New: Refurbished Forklift Batteries

Forklift batteries aren't eternal, but that doesn't mean you have to swap old for new.

In fact, many forklift batteries are disposed of well before their functional life is complete. Equipment managers see the signs of a battery starting to go bad and assume there's nothing to do about it. It must be replaced.

Mercifully, that couldn’t be further from the truth.

If your battery is only a few years old or has fewer than 1,000 charging cycles, it’s a strong candidate for repair. The refurbishment process restores battery capacity to up to 85% and prolongs the economic life of the cell. Repair is much less expensive than replacement, saving you money.

Even if your battery is not a candidate for refurbishment, it doesn’t mean new is the only way to go.

In addition to reconditioned forklift batteries, we stock a selection of lightly used batteries from our rental fleet. These batteries have only a limited number of working hours, making them perfect replacements. Like refurbished forklift batteries, used forklift batteries are far less expensive than brand-new ones.

Second-hand forklift batteries are a cost-effective alternative to new batteries.

How Reconditioning Batteries Works

The best part is you don’t have to decide right away.

A MidCo Power repair technician conducts voltage tests and evaluates the specific gravity of each of your forklift battery cells. The results tell the technician if your battery is a candidate for repair. They report back to you with the results, giving you all the information you need to decide whether to refurbish or replace.

If you choose to refurbish your battery, the process is seamless.

Our battery technician takes your battery and conducts all the necessary repairs. This process typically takes between three and five business days to complete. We then return your refurbished battery with its increased capacity and a 90-day warranty.

Just put the battery back into service and reap the savings.
