Blog Image - How Seattle Goodwill Raised -113,143 in a Treasure Hunt to Strengthen CommunityWhen it comes to helping individuals, strengthening families, and enriching communities, Seattle Goodwill has no competition. The non-profit currently operates five Job Training Centers, 24 retail stores, and over 40 donation sites in King, Snohomish, Skagit, Whatcom, and Kitsap County.

For nearly 100 years, Seattle Goodwill has been providing free job training and education to help people land good jobs and take care of their families. In December 2020, they organized a Treasure Hunt Fund-a-Need to support their community in critical times.

The Treasure Hunt Fund-a-Need auction contributions provide critical support services that fulfill urgent needs like rent assistance, food, utility bills, medical care, reliable internet connection, and hardware like computers and tablets. The fundraiser ensures that Goodwill students like Bernandina have access to the support they need:

MidCo Material Handling has been a proud vendor of Seattle Goodwill and an honored sponsor for Treasure Hunt Fund-a-Need. “We’re grateful for a chance to be a part of much needed and thoughtful initiative by Seattle Goodwill,” Says Dana Bowen, General Manager at MidCo Material Handling. “The Treasure Hunt Fund-a-Need auction was one of those events we just couldn’t miss. We value Seattle Goodwill as a customer and look forward to supporting their campaigns in the future.”

Thanks to the collective effort of sponsors and auction item donors, the fundraiser resulted in $113,143. “Thank you, MidCo Material Handling, for helping us accomplish this ambitious goal! Every dollar raised supports Goodwill’s students and free Job Training and Education programs.” says Ingrid Hartsock, Sr. Community Engagement Manager at Seattle Goodwill. “MidCo has been a reliable business partner and a steadfast supporter of our mission."
