Is a Doosan 3 Wheel or 4 Wheel Forklift Right For My Business

If you’re looking for new forklifts for your warehouse, the choice between 3-wheel or 4-wheel electrics can seem overwhelming. But it doesn’t have to be. While they are very similar, the right choice can take your business to the next level. Read on to find out if a Doosan 3-wheel or 4-wheel electric forklift is right for your business.

Doosan 7 Series 3-Wheel Electric Forklift

Doosan’s 7-series 3-wheel electric forklift is a practical and compact machine. Doosan is known for impressive engineering that creates key impacts for business. The design of the electric 3-wheel cushion forklift is perfect for narrow aisle warehouses.

3-Wheel Forklift Advantages

3-Wheel Class I Doosan Forklift

The biggest reason 3-wheel electrics are popular is because of their turn radius. The ability to turn at a 90-degree angle is critical for warehouses because you can configure your warehouse to store more product in narrower aisles. Beyond the turning radius, Doosan’s 3-wheels also have a smaller length to fork face, giving you more space to maneuver. Operators also enjoy the responsive maneuverability of 3-wheel forklifts compared to traditional 4-wheels.

3-Wheel Forklift Disadvantages

There is one main drawback for 3-wheel forklifts is their smaller lifting capacity. Doosan’s 3-wheel forklift tops out at 4,000 pounds, meaning they might not fit in heavier industrial settings. If your operation deals with heavier pallets, you may need to have equipment specifically for handling those loads.

Doosan 7 Series Cushion Electric Forklift

Doosan’s 4-wheeled cushion electric is very similar in design to the 3-wheeler. Both are nearly waterproof and can be driven outdoors on proper surfaces. Both feature comfortable designs for operators and heavy-duty materials. Where they differ is in capacity and maneuverability.

Cushion Electric Forklift Advantages

4-Wheel Class IV Doosan Forklift

Why should you pick a Doosan 4-wheel cushion electric forklift? If you need higher lifting capacities for an electric forklift, they offer up to 6,500-pound capabilities. While their turn radius is not as tight as the Doosan 3-wheel, their 86 degree radius is a significant improvement over the competition. These models also have improved stability provided by the patented Guardian Stability System.

Cushion Electric Forklift Disadvantages

As far as disadvantages go, the Doosan Cushion Electric is not as maneuverable or compact as its 3-wheeled cousin. So if your business wants to narrow your aisles for more optimized product storage, this is not the best forklift. But if you are comfortable with your current warehouse setup, Doosan’s electric cushion forklift may be right for you.
